Detailed Description of MS2000X-D

The Grace MS2000X-D Lone Worker Monitor is one of our most popular monitoring point configurations.

The MS2000X-D is capable of monitoring an unlimited number of Grace Lone worker Devices; including the TPASS®3 and SC500

Our customers enjoy the fact that Grace Lone Worker fixed facility immediate notification systems do not have to rely on cellular telephone systems or incur monthly or annual subscription fees. And is designed and built for most rugged of environments.

Here are some examples of common applications where the MS2000X-D is used:

  • Sand Blasting and Paint Booths
  • Remote Warehouse Operations
  • Maintenance Garages
  • Airplane Hangars
  • Laboratories
  • Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • and maintenance personnel on roof tops

Just to name a few…

In the example of a paint booth:

A worker is inside the booth while the other workers are on the outside of the booth.

When the worker inside the booth falls into distress, they can activate the Grace worn device by either manually pressing the panic button. Or, when motionless, the motion timer will count down and go into a motion alarm.

The workers on the outside of the booth will see the bright strobe light and hear the siren to let them know the worker inside the booth is in distress.

If there are no workers on the outside of the booth to the monitor the worker inside the booth, then an automatic telephone dialer can be connected to the MS2000X-D.

The automatic telephone dialer is powered by the MS2000X-D and required an analog “old style” POTS –Plain Old Telephone System- Plain Old Telephone Line.

The automatic telephone dialer is capable of dialing up to 8 telephone numbers; and is configured by the user by recording the own custom voice message.

Inputs are available on the MS2000X-D, that when triggered, will transmit will transmit an Over-the-Air OTA Evacuation Message, Panic Alarm, Special Canned Message. Or, with custom programming, will transmit a 16 character Free Form Text Message to all of the Grace Worker worn devices.

The evacuation input is popular when interfacing with fixed gas detection systems, fire alarm system, weather warning systems or any other external system that needs to transmit an evacuation alert. This method of alerting is valuable for workers working in areas that cannot easily hear or see an evacuation alert, but will instead receive the alert on their Grace worn device.

Panic and Canned Message inputs are valuable for interfacing to E-Stop and other process control equipment.

There are also (3) three FORM C output relay contacts that are configured to activate when receiving an OTA Over- the-Air Panic, Evacuation and Canned Message. These outputs can be used to interface with any other type of monitoring systems.

For example- the relay output of the MS2000X-D is capable of providing an input to any of the end users existing systems. Such as, fire alarm systems, security systems, SCADA, E-Stop or any plant industrial processing system.

The MS2000X-D is available with battery back-up capable of operating up to two days in standby mode.

A heated model is available for environments that require operation below 32° F

The MS2000X-D is capable of being powered by voltages of 120VAC and

The typical open indoor area of operation of the MS2000X-D is 150,000-200,000 Sq. Ft. Indoor performance is dependent on building construction, building layout, and RF radio environment.

The MS2000X-D also functions as a signal repeater and is useful for expanding alarm monitoring coverage to a Supervisor’s SC500-SM or SC500-LW alarm monitors. Additional system coverage can be achieved by adding a Grace T3 repeater to increase the coverage area.

Create your own package combinations of MS2000X-D, SC500 AND TPASS®3 worn devices and Grace Locator Beacons.

Grace locator beacons are strategically placed in and around coverage areas to provide general location information of worker in alarm.

The Grace Locator beacon signal is picked up by the TPASS®3 or SC500 when the device is in range of the beacon. Locator Beacon information rides along with silent status update transmissions of the TPASS®3 and SC500. The beacon range is field adjustable with the shortest distance setting of 30 feet.

When the TPASS®3 or SC500 are placed into alarm, the alarm signal with Locator Beacon information and the name of the worker is displayed on the SC500-SM and SC500-LW.

Location information is displayed the all SC500 models only when there is an active alarm; this is not the case when monitoring with a Grace-Watch® or Grace SMS Safety Monitoring Systems; these systems provide real time location status information.

Detailed Description of Worker Worn Device used with MS2000X-D

Auto Activation (TPASS®3-AM, TPASS®3 and SC500-LW)

Auto Activation devices are automatically powered on when the Accountability Key is removed or removed from the powered charging cradle. The auto activation models cannot be powered off until the key is re-affixed and manually powered or place back in the powered charging cradle. The TPASS®3 AM is also offered in a manual activation model that does not require an Accountability Key to power off.

Motion Timing (All Models- SC500 and TPASS®3)

Motion timing works like this, when the device is motionless, a timer begins to count-down from a factory default of 90 seconds; until the user moves and resets the timer.

If the timer is allowed to count- down to 10-15 seconds, the device will go into pre-alert which prompts the user to move. If the user does not move, the timer will continue to count down to zero seconds; it is then that the device will go into full audio alarm and transmit  the alarm status to all of these monitoring devices:

  • TPASS®3 AM
  • SC500-SM
  • SC500-LW
  • MS2000X-D
  • Grace-Watch® Safety Monitor
  • SMS Safety Monitor

THIS IS IMPORTANT

It is important to consider motion timing and its practical use in your application.

Motion timing of the TPASS®3-AM, TPASS®3, and SC500-LW are factory configured and cannot be changed in the field; any changes in motion timing will require the device to be returned to the factory and will require a fee of $150 each to reprogram.

It is important to consider motion timing and its practical use in your application. The most common motion time settings are 90 or 120 seconds. The potential for false alarms will increase when using shorter motion time settings.

All models of the TPASS®3 have a very loud audio alarm with a sound pressure rating of 92 dBA.

All models of the SC500 have a loud audio alarm with a sound pressure rating of 75 dBA.

All models of the TPASS® and SC500®models are all rechargeable with 80 hours of use in standby operation

  • 4-6 hours of operation in full alarm
  • 6-8 hours to recharge.

Battery charger types available are 120 VAC, 12 VDC, or International Voltages.

Device in this package configuration typically provide outdoor LINE OF SITE COVERAGE up to 1.5 miles

THIS IS IMPORTANT

The line of site distance of 1.5 miles was tested over water; when used over land, changes in terrain elevation and foliage will have an effect.

When used indoors, typical indoor performance is 75,000 to 100,000 square feet

Indoor performance is solely dependent upon building construction and layout.
